Akuo Secures €33 Million for Agrivoltaic Expansion

The law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) facilitated a €33 million financing arrangement for Akuo, an independent producer of renewable energy. The deal involved multiple financial institutions, including Caisse d'Epargne Ile de France and Caisse d'Epargne Bourgogne Franche-Comté. This strategic funding supports the development of three agrivoltaic solar power plants in France’s Côte d'Or region, with a total proposed capacity of 54 MW. These initiatives are designed not just to generate renewable energy but also to integrate agricultural activity, thereby promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting local economies. Notably, one of the planned solar farms represents France's inaugural use of solar trackers with field crops.
