AIIM Exits Renewable Energy Assets in R750 Million Deal

In a major development for South Africa's renewable energy sector, African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), a part of Old Mutual Alternative Investments, has successfully exited its stakes in several renewable energy projects. The transaction, valued at over R750 million, includes the divestment of AIIM's holdings in three key assets developed under the country's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). These assets include the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm and the Kalkbult and Linde Solar PV projects. Existing stakeholders Enzani and Usizo have acquired further shares in the wind farm, while Gaia Renewables 1, listed on the Cape Town Stock Exchange, purchased AIIM's stakes in the solar projects.
