ADB to Enhance Preschool Education in Uzbekistan
Deal News | Dec 18, 2024 | Asian Development Bank

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been appointed as a transaction advisor by Uzbekistan's Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, aiming to implement high-quality preschool education via public-private partnerships (PPPs) in multiple Uzbek regions. Currently engaged in advisory services to establish 100 preschools in Samarkand, ADB's new initiative plans to extend development to a total of 500 preschools across the Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and Tashkent regions, targeting around 75,000 students. These preschools will contribute to upgrading Uzbekistan's education system in alignment with the country's Strategy 2030. ADB's support involves project preparation, structuring, and procuring qualified private partners to enhance the education sector's sustainability and standard. A pivotal step in promoting private sector development, the endeavor will incorporate best practices in preschool management to align with international standards. This initiative expands ADB's ongoing efforts to develop the PPP market across various sectors in Uzbekistan.
