Activ8 Energies Expands with Low Carbon Energy Acquisition

Activ8 Energies, a leading solar panel provider from Ireland, has acquired Low Carbon Energy (LCE), a solar firm based in Burnley, UK, as part of its strategic expansion plans in the UK renewables market. This move aligns with Activ8's aim to increase its commercial infrastructure projects in the UK following its recent solar farm implementation at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport. The acquisition is set to double Activ8's turnover and installed capacity while positioning the company as a major player in the UK's commercial and industrial renewable sector. Ciarn Marron, CEO of Activ8, highlighted the acquisition's significance in bolstering their ability to deliver large-scale, innovative energy solutions. Founded in 2009 by Ged and Maura Ennis, LCE brings a substantial portfolio of clients and technical expertise. Activ8 has obtained full ownership of LCE, with Benedict Ennis continuing as Managing Director and Ged Ennis serving as a non-executive director. The collaboration aims to leverage both companies' strengths to support the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy, supported by SSE Airtricity, which holds a 50% stake in Activ8.
