Actis to Acquire 416km Colombian Toll Road Portfolio

Actis LLP, a major player in sustainable infrastructure investments in growth markets, has announced its entry into the Latin American toll roads sector through a significant acquisition in Colombia. Actis has agreed to purchase a portfolio of operational toll roads from Sacyr, a deal valued at US$1.6 billion. The acquisition includes control of three toll roads totaling 416km, positioned strategically across Northern and Western Colombia. These roads include the Pamplona-Cucuta toll road, Rumichaca-Pasto highway, and Autopista al Mar 1, each with long-term concessions valid into the mid-2040s. This deal marks the launch of Actis' first Latin American toll roads platform, building upon its existing investment initiatives in India's roads sector. Colombia's toll road industry has been open to foreign investments since the 1990s and continues to offer favorable conditions, supported by the country's resilient economic growth. The Colombian government is notably in its fifth round of toll road concessions, with a track record of international investments.
