IPG Photonics Completes Acquisition of cleanLASER

IPG Photonics Corporation has successfully completed its acquisition of Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH (cleanLASER), a prominent player in the field of laser cleaning systems. This strategic acquisition is expected to strengthen IPG's position in high-precision laser systems for various cleaning applications by tapping into cleanLASER's expertise and market presence. The move aligns with IPG's broader strategy to diversify its technologies and enter new potential markets, particularly those that prioritize environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional processes. Dr. Mark Gitin, CEO of IPG Photonics, expressed enthusiasm about integrating the cleanLASER team and their capabilities into IPG’s operations. Founded in 1997 and located in Herzogenrath, Germany, cleanLASER has established itself as a pioneer in laser cleaning with around 2,000 systems installed globally and generates approximately $30 million in annual revenue. This acquisition also broadens IPG Photonics' footprint in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and others, complementing its already extensive global presence. The company is recognized for its high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers which are pivotal in materials processing and various other applications, aiming to provide cost-effective and innovative solutions that enhance customer productivity and reduce costs.
